The Symposium on Carotenoids will feature talks on the photochemistry and photophysics of carotenoids and will deal with the mechanisms by which these molecules accomplish light-harvesting and photoprotection. Information on how carotenoids control the composition of pigment-protein complexes in thylakoid membranes and the manner in which carotenoid biosynthesis is regulated in plants will also be presented.
